The Kuo-Toa could be considered the hipsters of religious belief, as they’ll worship just about anything as long as terrible and unpopular. While their fanaticism is rabid and absolute, at times it can appear rather opportunistic in nature. The Kuo-Toa don’t view a new addition to the pantheon as a threat or competition, instead it’s just another possibility for mindless worship. So while they typically devote themselves to a single mad god at a time, they are rather tolerant as long as you believe in something equally insane.
This leaves one with the impression that what they worship is rather meaningless to the Kuo-Toa, as long as they get to cut out a still beating heart atop a dark altar at least once a week. Typical targets for Kuo-Toa worship include the Abolethians and Skibidydopdop, but they have been known to worship powerful monsters, abominations, and in one notable case a turtle that was painted blue as a prank.
